During the annual World Cleanup Day celebration, UNICEF, in collaboration with Generation Nigeria and UNILAG Green Hub, announced a competition among Lagos state students called the “Resources Challenge.”
MIMS Comprehensive College, a private school in Bajulaiye, committed to academic excellence and environmental responsibility, not only registered its students for the competition but also provided full support throughout the Challenge period.
Thanks to the unwavering dedication, commitment, and thorough guidance from the school’s management and staff, Owolabi Marsooqa emerged victorious in the School Resource Challenge, a regional competition promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Owolabi Marsooqa collected an impressive 2,500 plastic bottles, the highest number in the challenge, demonstrating outstanding commitment to environmental conservation.
The School Resource Challenge encouraged students to develop creative solutions to reduce waste, increase recycling, and promote environmental awareness.
The awards ceremony on October 28, 2024, was attended by dignitaries, including UNICEF delegates, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Folasade Tolulope Ogunsola, and guests from Generation Nigeria.
